We need your help!
Due to our little antiquated farm needing expensive improvements to satisfy EA regs, our landlord has advised us that he cannot justify our tenancy here and will soon be serving us notice to quit.
Please watch this space, because as soon as we find a new and this time hopefully, our #foreverfarm we may need help to support and fund the move. Keep a sharp eye on our posts and switch on your notifications for our pages on Twitter instagram and Facebook. Please share the hell out of our CROWDFUND CAMPAIGN far and wide when we give you the nod Thanks.
Previously we had already felt it was time to move on to pastures new...........
. We felt our current little farm with all its charm and baler twine has really helped us to achieve our first goal for the dairy- to get the world talking about keeping dairy calves with their cows and helping and encouraging others to set up farms inspired by our work. While we threw everything we had at making the world a better place for dairy cows, we can no longer justify maintaining these high inputs to run our little dairy, which brings us to our second goal: Running a regenerative, low input farm for the future. We haven’t enough land where we are to manage the cows in a way that heals and regenerates soil, sequestering carbon from the atmosphere into the ground as organic matter, without also feeding hay and grass nuts everyday.
By moving we hope to be able to raise our Purely Pastured cows on pastures outside our door, rather than relying on bought-in or processed inputs. Buying in feed makes us reliant on single-use plastic and fossil fuels and our high cost of inputs and lack of infrastructure means we can’t find an affordable way to stop bottling the milk in plastic. We feel trapped. Moving will enable us to run our farm in a way that is not just sustainable but regenerative, boosting ecosystem processes for healthy soil, healthy cows, healthy milk and healthy pockets!
We wanted to tell our friends, family and close supporters before we launch a public Crowdfunding campaign because we have two little problems: Firstly, we don’t yet have a farm in mind to move to. Secondly, we won’t be able to finance a move without your support. If you think you know of a farm to rent or buy, or you can think of someone who might be able to help, stop what you’re doing right now and tell us. Or, if you’d rather just give us lots of money that would be ok too.
